WORLD-FIRST MINECRAFT HOTEL EXPANDS NEW MINECRAFT WORLD OFFERING COMING TO CHESSINGTON WORLD OF ADVENTURES RESORT IN 2027
Following the announcement of Minecraft World earlier this year, Merlin Entertainments and Mojang Studios have today revealed two exciting updates of the Minecraft experience coming to Chessington World of Adventures Resort in 2027; the world’s first Minecraft hotel, and the name of the first-ever Minecraft rollercoaster, Escape the Nether.
With Minecraft World set to bring the game to life through rides, dining and retail experiences, it has today been announced during Minecraft LIVE that the adventure will also extend beyond the land itself. The Minecraft World Hotel will give families and fans the chance to stay immersed in Minecraft all day and night. Boasting 20 premium and 49 standard rooms across four floors drawing on the game’s iconic biomes, characters, mobs, colours and textures alongside an immersive restaurant and potions bar.
From the moment guests arrive, the hotel will transport them into Minecraft’s most recognisable environments. Blocky trees and animals will bring the Overworld to life at check-in, while Nether Portal inspired lifts and mine tunnel corridors will make every part of an overnight stay feel like another step into the world’s most popular game.
And when it comes to the respawn point – the bedrooms – guests will be able to experience Minecraft’s unmistakable blocks, items, mobs, textures and colours in real life, creating immersive spaces for dedicated fans and newcomers alike. The adventure continues in the underwater-themed restaurant inspired by Minecraft’s ocean biomes, before guests raise a glass of vibrant potions in the bar themed to the Woodland Mansion.
On the site of the theme park land, the crafting adventure continues…timelapse footage, revealed today, shows Minecraft World taking shape block by block, as the Merlin team mines and builds the first fully immersive Minecraft theme park attraction, coming exclusively to the UK in 2027. At the heart of the land will be Escape the Nether, the world’s first Minecraft rollercoaster, where guests will go on a high-speed indoor adventure through dark mines before bursting out of the building through a Nether portal into the Overworld themed area of the land. With danger lurking around every corner, the question is: will they make it back to see another blocky sunrise?
